I really do love my job of being an Independent Professional Celebrant and I feel this is my true calling. I have enjoyed the careers I have had, but this really does feel like home and I feel that I am in the right place at the right time. I get a thrill making a connection with new people and finding out about their lives and what makes them tick. It is a privilege to be part of a couple's wedding, or to be there for a naming ceremony, or to be celebrating the life of a loved one.
I find that there is one common theme that runs between all ceremonies and that is LOVE, all consuming LOVE. Love really does come in many forms and I believe that we should celebrate them all. I think we should all celebrate every milestone, every achievement, every rite of passage and do it well. To be honest I will go to the opening of an envelope, especially if there is cake.
So today let us celebrate love in all of its many forms! Lets us celebrate each other! Let us eat cake.
